What is FAPIIS (Federal Awardee Performance and Integrity Information System)?

A federal database that tracks contractor integrity issues including terminations for cause, suspensions, debarments, and other serious performance failures.

FAPIIS is the government's system for recording contractor integrity and performance issues that go beyond routine CPARS evaluations. Unlike CPARS, some FAPIIS data is partially visible to the public through SAM.gov entity records.

Publicly accessible FAPIIS records include terminations for cause or default, administrative agreements and civil judgments, suspensions and debarments, defective pricing determinations, non-responsibility determinations, and human trafficking violations. Additional information — such as reduced or untimely payments to small business subcontractors and criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings — is tracked in FAPIIS but visible only to government officials.

FAPIIS records represent serious integrity failures, not routine performance ratings. A FAPIIS entry is far more damaging than a low CPARS score and can result in exclusion from future contract awards. Contractors should check their SAM.gov entity record periodically to ensure no erroneous FAPIIS entries have been filed.
